MUSIC

Plato wrote, ‘Music is a moral law. It gives soul to the universe, wings to the mind, flight to the imagination, and charm and gaiety to life and to everything.’

For me, music is what kept me going to church and what keeps me close to my Lord. Music here at First Congregational Church of Fryeburg is an integral part of the ministry, faith and fellowship.

Our Joyful Voices volunteer choir meets weekly September through early June and provides an inspirational anthem every Sunday worship service in addition to leading the congregation on hymns and service music.

We also have a dedicated group of handbell ringers, aptly named the Glory Ringers, who deftly handle three octaves of Schulmerich bells. From 2012 through 2016, the choirs hosted an annual handbell concert.

Other concerts gracing our sanctuary include an annual MLK Jr. event hosted on a rotating basis among area churches. Religious and professional groups are invited to inquire about scheduling an event in our beautiful, historic sanctuary.

Though no longer home to Fryeburg Academy’s baccalaureate service, First Congregational Church of Fryeburg remains an iconic landmark where the community still gathers every Christmas Eve for the traditional Candlelight Service.

Come, worship with us and join God’s choir.
